Today I had to go with my sister to London, to help her sort out her passport at the embassy. The day started off pretty good, until we got to London.
Oh, sweet London! How is it you keep messing with our lives? We need you, but end up hating you.
We had to get some pictures taken. So, I head off to the underground on the Strand. We patiently wait in the queue, which isn't really that long. Then behind us comes along a married couple with their kids. The wive is from Zim, and the hubby is obviously English (his accent gave it away). Fair enough it's a hot day, everyone is getting tired and irratable. Over the years, I have learnt to be patient in everything, to keep calm and trust the people who will serve you - to get to you in good time. Anyways...we wait and wait. But now the hubby behind us is getting irratable. The wife seems to want to get before us - and just to check - she asks us if we are waiting for our pictures to be taken. Well - YES we are in front of you (I'm thinking). A few minutes later - what next? She decides to 'pop' in front of us and speak to the photographer about what she wants for her pictures.
Now, my blood is beginning to boil, because I have encountered people, who are impatient, to just 'pop' in front to ask a question and the next thing - they are being served next. So I calmly stare at her and then softly say to my sister - 'if she dares to jump this queue, there will be a problem'
My sister began to worry and wondered if we should look elsewhere, but we didn't need to. I just kept my eye on the lady and luckily she didn't push her luck. I surely do hate impatient people, who think they should go first before others.
We finished our time at the Embassy and decided to have a bite to eat at Pizza Hut on the Strand. I had eaten there before and it was good. We got seated, and noticed it was 'buffet' lunch, and decided to have the 'buffet'. The waitress politely encouraged us to get some food, but only to find - there weren't any pizza's. Nothing. I have to say - that was the first time I had to really wait for a buffet. The waitress looked concerned and we simply told her there wasn't any pizza out yet, and she explained they were probably busy. Next I see a group of six foreign students walk in. My sister goes to get some food, only to encounter one of the students rush and push everyone else out of the way to get his food (by then the pizza was served). She got pretty 'racked' off and came back - with nothing. Again we had to wait. We gave it another go and finally got some food.
The six foreign students finally left and I watched the waitress clear up, only to see something that got me so 'peeed' off. The amount of pizza they had left over was unbelievable, because they took too much. And I thought to myself - 'you pigs!!!' You make sure YOU get what you want and stuff everyone else, push them over to get your damn food, whilst others before are still WAITING. People like you DO NOT deserve much and the funny thing is - they probably still get it all.
To add to our little adventure at Pizza Hut. We suddenly see another group of foreigners, this time - tourists - walk straight into our section and just sit themselves down at a table that was not given to them. I knew straight away, they didn't care to look if anyone else was waiting and just made themselves comfortable. Again, selfishness takes a seat. When the waitress arrived, she wasn't impressed, and told them they had to wait and not just sit down. 'Oh' and a shrug of the shoulders was all she got. They even managed to make sure they get food before the waitress even appeared.
What is wrong with people - you selfish fools. I thought to myself - if there was a natural catastrophe and people were suffering badly, I would avoid these kind of people like the plague. You would be able to see them from a mile away, because they will be the ones crying and struggling, or even worse run away in fear.
I was so peeed off with these people today that I just kept starring at them to make them feel stupid, because that's what they are!
Selfishness becomes the killer to our society.....
